In alignment with the values of Park(ing) Day—reclaiming urban space for people rather than cars—Balloon Grove demonstrates how a parking spot can be swiftly transformed with minimal materials into a positive space for gathering and socializing. This project utilizes a typically overlooked area, much like the sparse greenery in our urban landscapes. By turning this spot into a vibrant, ephemeral grove, we aim to spark a deeper conversation about who our cities are truly designed for and the benefits of reclaiming spaces for nature and community
